Conversion Ad-Ons and Stand-Alone Utilities developed with CMOD in mind : Report Splitter and Indexer 1.0 The suites described below have been developed as conversion ad-ons. The main objectives of these utilities is to overcome limitations in the target environments that may impact day forward operations following a conversion/migration of legacy archives.

These extensions can be useful in reducing the amount of development or re-work around existing applications.

  1. Report Splitter When a report data stream contains a number of sections that are not formatted identically, it is often difficult to come up with rules to index it in a reliable way. This utility program uses a catalog of rules to determine when section breaks occur and to assign different report attributes for indexing. Separate data files are created to facilitate the report indexing. Report sections can be counted and section indicators can be inserted.
  2. Report Indexer Report sections may not always be formatted in a reliable manner causing indexing problems. The report indexer uses a catalog of rules specific to a report type to locate and collect index values. An index and a data file are created.
